one person's opinion.

"Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life...You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn;t your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should just be friends' turns into a glass splinter working it's way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love."
- Neil Gaiman.

I feel being in this generation, the only feeling expressed being our age should be freedom, to do what we want and not give a shit. Change happens, but how can we expect to grow into the person we want to be if there is a person you have to consider before doing so?
No regrets. No need for these so-called "strings" that do not actually need to be attached. Too young to fall in love.

perfection.

Just need to get off my chest on how good a couple Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon Levitt would be, two of the few awesome actors of today.

campaign ads fall 2010

So I thought I'd post a blog on this seasons campaign ads that caught my eye, including PepeJeans as the wonderful Alexa Chung is their spokes model, it's Alexa...enough said.
Also Burberry who this season has become one of my favourites and of course Rosie Huntington-Whitely is a featured model and who is also going to be taking Megan Fox's place in the new Transformers movie, both gorgeous but honestly...Rosie > Megan...come on.
Yves Saint Laurent's creative director Stefano Pilati and his catholic and fabulously nun-(ified?) collection, Versace's fresh and edgy ads and Vivienne Westwood who can as usual be seen rocking her very own products...

Oh and I had to add in Viktor & Rolf's wedge shoe boots...love.

justin bobby/brescia

Why I've started watching The Hills I honestly don't know, I don't usually watch anything of the sort.
Which brings me onto my next point of how old news Justin Brescia must be but I couldn't help it. Although I think a lot of people would agree with me when I say the boy's a looker and has some good style...

updates on the catwalk coming up.

august playlist/miscellaneous

In work again, thought I'd do a blog on music and film which are the other loves of my life.
Lets start off with an early August playlist, I would wait till the middle of the month but I'm a little bored and have a few new songs and some old ones I'm listening to more at the moment;

I Need Air - Magnetic Man
Drop The Other - Emika
Pink - Aerosmith
Heartbeat (Chase & Status Remix) - Nneka
Double Egded Sword - Emika
La Femme D'argent - Air
I Smell Sex and Candy - Nirvana
Tomorrow Never Knows - Our Lady Peace
Love Is Hell - Ryan Adams
You'll Find A Way (Switch & Graeme Sinden Remix) - Santogold

Now I'm not saying I'm an expert at films but I will be sharing through time what films I like/find blah blah blah...
So I guess we start with a top 5 shall we?

1. Heathers
I first come across this film when I was about 8? The only reason I taped it (VHS was really cool to me back then) was because I thought it was about vampires? don't ask why, I just did. Glad I found it though, it's been a favourite till this day. Think of it as a black comedy version of Mean Girls but with talk of suicide/homicide and intentions of getting rid of a best friend taken too far. One of Winona Ryder's best, eye candy in the film? a young Christian Slater of course.

2. Beetlejuice
Since Tim Burton is one of my favourite directors I figured I'd have to put one of his films in, so I chose Beetlejuice, Michael Keaton is incredible in this film, I didn't even know it was him till I got older and looked it up. And Winona of course, I think she's one of my favourite actresses, I say think since I've only just noticed how many films I like that coincidentally have her in.

3. Batman Returns
As a big Batman fan, I have to say no person was better for directing the movies than Tim Burton. For me he just captured what I'd imagine Gotham to be like, forget that Batman Begins/Dark Knight crap, as much as I enjoyed the late Heath Ledger's performance, they're just not the same...to me anyway. But yeh, Batman Returns? best one of the batch in my opinion, Danny DeVito made an ace Penguin and Michelle Pfeiffer, I just wanted to be her.

3. The Crow
One of the best films I've ever seen, and has a boss soundtrack along with it. Saw this for the first time when I was around 7/8, naturally didn't fully understand what was going on then but still found it so interesting to watch. Brandon obviously was gone too soon because he was awesome in this film. But on another note, the only sequels worth watching is The City Of Angels...the others? don't waste your time.

5. Party Monster
I discovered this film maybe 2/3 years ago, and still watch it often, it's pretty much a film documentary about the New York Club Kids and the underground club scene back in the late 1980's early 1990's. Based on the real lives of Michael Alig, James St James and the murder of their drug dealer Angel. Fun and interesting in good and bad ways being able to kind of watch and look back, a thing I like about some films. Macaulay Culkin and Seth Green are perfect together in this and the cameo appearance from Marilyn Manson is quite entertaining.

weeze the juice

"If you're edged 'cause I'm weazin all your grindage, just chill. 'Cause if I had the whole brady bunch thing happenin' at my pad,
I'd go grind over there, so dont tax my gig so hard-core cruster."

One of the best quotes from a film. If it's considered a bad thing to enjoy the entertainment of Pauly Shore, then I guess I'm guilty because I think he is excellent, especially in Encino man which was one of my favourite childhood films among many.
I had not long ago found it showing on Sky and the love was quickly rekindled for the film as well as Brendan Fraser...such a babe back in the day.

emporio armani fall 2010

Think I'm guna make this short and sweet.
Thing is I was going to praise Armani's shoes alone until I was trying to find better images, I saw the full collection and was impressed, guilty to say I've not really looked much into Armani lately but the guy's stilll got it.
The jackets and dresses are awesome and I would like some of my own, and trust Armani to make the womans suit so sexy and feminine yet so effortless.
